Adversities and difficult times……..How do we get through them?

With God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost!

Only when we give our heart to God as that of a child, void of self and ready to be filled with only God can our relationship grow into an intimate one where God can use his soft voice for guidance.

It never says anywhere that if you are a Christian that life will be free of difficulties.  With God leading you in a intimate relationship in your life you can learn as Paul did.

Philippians 4:11-12 ” I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything in Him who gives me strength.”

Paul’s heart was completely FULL of God.  God was leading Paul’s way through all of the adversities of his life.

An adult human average weighs about 165 lbs. his heart only weighs about 9 lbs.

The word heart is in the Bible more than 756 times.  God wants our hearts.  Think about it, doesn’t the heart control the entire body?  We could not think or draw a breath without a beating heart.

God doesn’t want some of you He wants ALL of you.

You ask how do I do this?  It comes from giving your complete, empty heart, void of self.  Giving that heart and waiting to be fill with the power of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

God will lead you through your difficult times.  He has a beautiful plan for each and every one of his children.

After the tragedies of devastation, does God not bring new life and new growth in the plains of the floods and volcanoes?

We are his children.  Have we given a corner of our heart or our entire heart to God?

Difficult times, how did I get through them and how will you?

Psalm 46:1-3  ” God is our refuge and  strength, an ever present help in trouble.  Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.”

Psalm 121:1-2  “I lift up my eyes to the hills- where does my help come from?  My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.”

    Thanks for sharing your heart. Today my heart is grateful for so many things but most of all that I have a Savior who loves me. That is what I hang onto when things get tough. My heart is also a bit sad as tomorrow will be the one year anniversary of the death of my Mom. She was a 2 time cancer survivor….mastectomies in 1980 and 1999. She was 86 when she died and it wasn’t from cancer. She showed me that you can live a full life without having breasts. My heart is also glad that Mom is with Jesus and no longer has any of the pain from her illnesses and the heartache of losing 3 of her adult children (she had 7 children) within 9 years, two of them within 6 months of each other and both from cancer illnesses….my older sister from leukemia and older brother from lung cancer.

    Thais – I am just starting out on my journey with breast cancer. I just turned 40 this January and I’m trying to figure out our “new normal” with my husband and 12 yr old daughter and almost 8 yr old son. Nothing is the same but we hope and pray that God will show us the new normal He has in store for us that will far exceed our expectations. Can’t wait to read your book.

    I did jump over from Karen’s site. You are an incredible inspiration! Thank you so much for sharing your story. I keep wondering through all my tough times, if God wants to use me to reach out to others, but apparently, I’m not quite ready yet… i’m still gathering experiences. Through, my father’s suicide, major clinical depression and most recently my husbands infidelity and my fight back from the brink of divorce, I have finally realized that He is all I need and that I cannot do this by myself. I have really learned to hold onto Him, even if I feel like I’m only holding onto a thread. He can do anything he chooses to do, but He also has His own timing (which is perfect) but so hard for me to wait for. I know He is good, I know He is faithful and I know He loves me. I will come through only by His grace and to Him be the glory! I’d love to ready your book. Bless You! -Dory

    My best friend was diagnosed with breast cancer almost a year ago she is done with chemo but still is in radiation she has not been able to work so she has been able to go to church with me after a long time of praying and asking her to come with me I would be so grateful to give her a copy of your book she would be so blessed by your inspiration and story thanks for the chance for a copy

    Hello. I am from England and I sort of found out about the book from my Proverbs 31 daily devotion,and just kept getting this nagging feeling to purchase the book.

    I purchased the book on Friday via Amazon Kindle store and read the whole book Friday night, I just could not put it down.

    This book for me was just a wonderful show of obedience to God and how letting go and letting God really helps form a very personal relationship with our father.

    I must admit I like to control situations and if I feel God is not working fast enough I am more than happy to step in to offer my help:)

    This book has taught me about having patience, loving people, sharing and most of all relying on the one who ultimately knows the plans he has for each and every one us.

    So if you have not read the book please do, it was one of the most inspiring books I have read in a long time.
